Temuco UniverCiudad is an initiative headed by six universities of La Araucanía Region: Universidad de La Frontera, Universidad Católica de Temuco, Universidad Autónoma de Chile, Universidad Mayor, Universidad Santo Tomás and Universidad Tecnológica Inacap, in alliance with the Municipality of Temuco together with Corparaucanía.
This city alliance looks forward to the generation of a strategy for facing important challenges favorable to the development of the city of Temuco and La Araucanía Region, adding cooperation and better communication between the universities and the mayor developing forces in the Region.
Temuco UniverCiudad bases on the fact that development should be enhanced by the comparative advantages of the city, its surroundings and the Region, and that the generation of this alliance will contribute to improve the image Temuco has, associating it to positive values and believes that will emphasize its identity and its potentials.
Objective
The main objective is to transform Temuco through this unprecedented alliance into an university city of national and international prestige, involving different development areas of the Regional capital.
Specific Objectives
- To promote Temuco as university city making known its academic offer and attributes.
- To enhance and publicize nationally and internationally the Spanish/English bilingual site Temuco UniverCiudad.
- To upgrade products, services and infrastructure of Temuco.
- To uplift regional culture and identity,
- To encourage international relationships and promote the student and teacher exchange between La Araucanía and the world.
- To undertake actions in order to improve the perception of the community about students and universities.
- To establish strategic alliances that reinforce the initiative.
